Base Salary

$143k - $304k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve end-to-end architecture for complex, AI-enabled customer experience capabilities across scale, latency, availability, security, cost, and time-to-market trade-offs.
  • Own critical technical areas from problem definition and architecture through implementation, deployment, operational health, and long-term improvement.
  • Lead implementation of critical platform components, write high-quality production code, and resolve complex design, performance, and debugging challenges in distributed systems.
  • Drive technical strategy across teams and organizations and translate customer and business needs into multi-release engineering plans.
  • Provide technical leadership for applied AI systems, including model and framework selection, evaluation, grounding, orchestration, responsible AI controls, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Establish quality, security, compliance, deployment, observability, incident-response, and safe-rollout practices for mission-critical services.
  • Lead high-severity live-site and customer issue resolution, root-cause analysis, and preventive improvements.
  • Mentor engineers, review architecture and code, establish reusable patterns, simplify systems, and raise engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to pass Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience architecting and delivering large-scale production cloud services with technical leadership across multiple teams or complex dependencies.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting scalable, resilient, event-driven systems, including asynchronous processing, observability, audio streaming, recording, and media-processing workflows.
  • Experience using GitHub Copilot and Claude for implementation, debugging, code reviews, prototyping, and end-to-end test scenarios.
  • Experience owning work from requirements through production deployment and diagnosing cross-service failures using logs, telemetry, correlation IDs, and distributed traces.
  • Expertise in WebSockets, gRPC, GitHub-based CI/CD workflows, and Azure Service Fabric.
