Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Define and evolve end-to-end architecture for complex, AI-enabled customer experience capabilities.
- Own critical technical areas from problem definition and architecture through implementation, deployment, operations, and long-term improvement.
- Lead implementation of critical platform components, write production code, and solve complex design, performance, and debugging problems across distributed systems.
- Drive technical strategy, engineering plans, interfaces, and multi-release investments across teams and organizations.
- Provide technical leadership for applied AI systems, including model and framework selection, evaluation, grounding, orchestration, responsible AI controls, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- Establish quality, security, compliance, deployment, observability, incident response, and safe rollout practices.
- Lead resolution of high-severity live-site and customer issues and convert operational lessons into systemic prevention.
- Mentor engineers, review architecture and code, establish reusable patterns, and raise engineering standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience involving coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Deep experience defining distributed-systems architecture and driving technical decisions across organizational boundaries.
- Experience shipping generative AI, large language model, or agentic capabilities with evaluation, safety, monitoring, and lifecycle practices.
- Expertise building and operating highly available cloud services, including containers, data platforms, networking, security, and observability.
- Strong coding, debugging, systems-thinking, communication, mentoring, and technical leadership abilities.
- Preferred: master’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience with large-scale production cloud services, scalable event-driven systems, asynchronous processing, observability, audio streaming, recording, and media-processing workflows.
- Preferred: experience using GitHub Copilot and Claude for implementation, debugging, code reviews, prototyping, experiments, and end-to-end test scenarios.
- Preferred: expertise diagnosing cross-service failures with logs, telemetry, correlation IDs, and distributed traces, supported by unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end testing.
- Preferred: experience with WebSockets, gRPC, GitHub-based CI/CD workflows, and Azure Service Fabric.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $142,800–$274,800 per year; separate ranges apply to the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
