Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Create reusable GitHub workflow templates for build, test, deployment, and release automation.
- Develop Python automation for operational tasks, infrastructure management, and DevOps workflows.
- Integrate GitHub with external tools and platforms through APIs and automation frameworks.
- Implement branch management, code quality gates, security scanning, and deployment governance.
- Troubleshoot and optimize build and deployment processes for reliability and performance.
- Manage GitHub repositories, permissions, secrets, and workflow configurations.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and automation guidelines while following DevSecOps, security, compliance, and operational standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, information technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, or platform engineering roles.
- Strong experience with GitHub Actions, workflow development, CI/CD pipeline implementation, Python scripting, GitHub APIs, Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, Git, and GitHub.
- Proven experience implementing enterprise-scale automation using GitHub Actions and Python.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, Docker, monitoring and logging tools, GitHub Enterprise Cloud, workflow orchestration, reusable workflow frameworks, repository migration, DevOps transformation, DevSecOps, SonarQube, Artifactory, Nexus, or relevant cloud and Terraform certifications.

- Base compensation is listed in Canadian dollars and the role is eligible for a discretionary annual performance-based bonus and benefits supporting physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
- Hybrid work arrangement requiring three days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
- Work arrangements may change based on project and client requirements.
