Responsibilities
- Own the health, uptime, and resolution of issues for deployed imaging systems across software, firmware, networking, and hardware.
- Build and maintain reliable, observable, modular production services on edge-compute devices.
- Support field operators and non-technical users by diagnosing and resolving issues on deployed hardware.
- Represent the team as a technical subject matter expert in remote and on-site product and customer integrations.
- Develop end-to-end understanding across hardware, firmware, networking, and software to improve system behavior and graceful degradation.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and platform engineers to plan, build, and test complex functionality.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software development experience with meaningful production ownership after deployment.
- Deep proficiency in C++, TypeScript with Node.js/React, or Python, plus the ability to work across a second language.
- At least 3 years of experience in Linux-based environments, including hands-on bare-metal hardware work.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across networking, services, and hardware interactions with incomplete system visibility.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical issues to non-technical audiences and field operators.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with performance-sensitive, real-time, resource-constrained, edge, or embedded systems; gRPC; systemd; Linux observability; Nix or NixOS; deployed systems; and imaging, EO/IR, ISR, or C2 systems.
