Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales and consulting teams to create pursuit, solution, and sales strategies for large global clients.
- Conduct client discovery and assessment workshops with consulting, operations, and product teams.
- Develop and document technical and business solutions for transformation, modernization, migration, and re-platforming initiatives.
- Lead solution development sessions and present technical solutions and business cases to varied audiences.
- Engage executives and senior technology leaders to build support for complex solutions.
- Provide trusted-advisor consultation and recommendations based on technology expertise and prior experience.
- Partner with Product Management on product enhancements and technology roadmap changes.
- Create solutions that improve stability and innovation across clients’ current and future-state environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer sciences.
- 20+ years of experience as an architect or equivalent in hosting and network environments, preferably with a service provider.
- More than 12 years of experience as a modernization or migration architect leading legacy system upgrades with minimal business disruption.
- Hands-on experience with mainframe application migration and legacy modernization projects.
- 15+ years of strong expertise across the mainframe technology stack, including COBOL, Natural, Adabas, Easytrieve, Db2, IMS, JCL, CICS, VSAM, RACF, z/OS, PL/I, and Assembler.
- Experience managing multi-phase, multi-dimensional, and multi-resource projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Expertise in data migration and converting legacy data structures to modern database platforms.
- Experience evaluating legacy mainframe applications and developing comprehensive modernization plans.
- Development experience with modern Java and C# frameworks for scalable enterprise applications.
- Extensive experience using Python for scripting, automation, data analysis, and scalable backend systems.
- Understanding of AWS, Azure, and hybrid solutions.
- Ability to apply artificial intelligence, intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and machine learning to legacy modernization and data migration.
- Knowledge of hosting technologies including compute, storage, backup, network, security, disaster recovery, DevOps, and IT governance.
- Understanding of sales processes for large and complex opportunities.
- Experience with technical documentation and strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, presentation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Visio.
