Base Salary
$160k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering leads at 2–3 acquired companies to inventory services, dependencies, and cloud-provider-specific infrastructure.
- Create per-service migration plans covering refactoring, CP2 components, and T-shirt-sized effort estimates.
- Rewrite Terraform and Terragrunt modules, port CI/CD pipelines, replace cloud-specific services, and re-instrument logs, metrics, traces, and SLOs as needed.
- Identify CP2 platform gaps and provide specific feature requests to IPE platform teams.
- Establish repeatable migration patterns and playbooks for future acquisition onboarding.
- Participate in Architecture Review Boards, distinguish hard and soft blockers, and build consensus across platform and acquisition teams.
- Write automation, migration tooling, operators, migration plans, RFCs, and runbooks.
- Collaborate effectively across multiple locations and time zones.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience, including at least 3 years operating production workloads on AWS and/or GCP.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency with AI tools including Claude Code, Cursor, and Augment.
- Strong current Kubernetes experience, including EKS, GKE, pod debugging, Helm charts, networking, and resource limits.
- Production proficiency with Terraform and experience refactoring infrastructure across accounts, projects, and regions; Terragrunt experience is a plus.
- Strong coding skills in Go and/or Python for automation, migration tooling, and operators.
- CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Flux, or Harness.
- Working knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, GCP Operations Suite, or equivalent observability stacks.
- Experience with at least one managed database such as Aurora, Cloud SQL, Spanner, or RDS, including migration or replication.
- Preferred multi-cloud experience with GCP and AWS.
- Preferred familiarity with secrets management, least-privilege IAM, vulnerability scanning, image signing, mTLS, security auditing, and compliance frameworks.
- Strong collaboration, written communication, pragmatic decision-making, and comfort working through ambiguity.
