Responsibilities
- Own meaningful parts of the production mobile application from technical design through delivery and continuous improvement.
- Define and evolve React Native architecture and develop, refactor, and maintain scalable mobile features.
- Modernize the existing React Native codebase using modern patterns, best practices, and platform capabilities.
- Measure, profile, and optimize startup time, rendering, memory, caching, and overall mobile user experience.
- Improve mobile tooling, build systems, debugging workflows, automation, and developer productivity.
- Provide React Native technical expertise through design and code reviews and drive better production solutions.
- Maintain and improve mobile testing strategies, release processes, and CI/CD pipelines for iOS and Android.
- Collaborate with backend teams to design and integrate APIs and data flows and occasionally improve backend code for mobile needs.
- Participate in technical discussions, review code, mentor colleagues, and raise mobile engineering standards.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Designers to deliver high-quality mobile experiences.
Requirements
- 5+ years of mobile development experience.
- Clear expertise in React Native and deep understanding of mobile architectures and performance tradeoffs.
- Experience operating at a senior or staff level and owning meaningful parts of a production application end to end.
- Experience building reliable, data-driven applications in production.
- Strong product mindset and sensitivity to user experience, performance metrics, and real-world usage at scale.
- Comfort working in complex, evolving codebases and improving them incrementally.
- Experience with mobile CI/CD, release processes, testing, and iOS and Android platform-specific constraints.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, Product Managers, and Product Designers.
- Fluent written and spoken English; French is not required.
