Python Developer - Insurance Experience - Remote

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Python applications supporting policy, claims, underwriting, and billing systems.
- Build REST APIs and backend services and integrate internal and external systems through APIs and web services.
- Develop data-processing and automation solutions using Python and SQL.
- Work with relational databases and optimize SQL queries.
- Use Django, Flask, or FastAPI to develop and maintain applications.
- Support cloud-based deployments, CI/CD processes, production operations, testing, debugging, performance optimization, and secure development.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on Python backend development experience, including REST APIs and backend services.
- Experience with Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Experience with SQL, relational databases, data processing, and query optimization.
- Experience integrating applications through APIs and web services and supporting cloud-based deployments and CI/CD processes.
- Experience with unit testing, debugging, production support, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.
- Prior insurance systems or business-process experience, especially in policy, claims, underwriting, or billing, is preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant software development experience is a bonus qualification.

- Hourly compensation range of $55–$65, with possible discretionary bonuses, commissions, or other incentive programs.
