Responsibilities
- Collaborate with application teams to deliver data ingestion, subscription-based data consumption, and advanced analytics platform functionality.
- Design and implement internal platform capabilities including monitoring, alerting, automated testing frameworks, and performance optimization tools.
- Manage support queues across the Ingest, Prepare, Storage, and Consume data-platform domains while meeting agreed SLAs.
- Design, build, and maintain Terraform Infrastructure as Code solutions, including modules, workspaces, state management, and CI/CD integration.
- Standardize provisioning across development, staging, and production environments and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure components.
- Implement tagging strategies, budget controls, chargeback mechanisms, storage lifecycle policies, and automated cloud cost optimization.
- Mentor application teams on tools, technologies, and design patterns and participate in Architecture Review Board meetings.
- Collaborate with application leads to align CI/CD frameworks, monitoring, and incident escalation procedures with team needs.
- Work with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to unblock deliverables and improve platform reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
- Expert-level proficiency with Azure services and cloud architecture patterns.
- Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform.
- Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration platforms.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or Go.
- Understanding of data-platform technologies and big-data ecosystems.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or Prometheus.
