Responsibilities
- Engineer infrastructure and application-management solutions for monitoring, operations, standardization, and automation.
- Design, analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize large-scale distributed systems and code.
- Monitor and improve platform availability, latency, performance, efficiency, reliability, capacity, and production quality.
- Collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams on reliable software releases and platform performance issues.
- Provide cybersecurity support, including vulnerability cleanup, secure server configuration, testing and validation, technical controls, and incident remediation.
- Participate in on-call shifts, incident prevention, emergency response, incident retrospectives, and break/fix resolution.
- Develop operational best practices and tools that improve system reliability and engineering productivity.
- Work variable schedules, including nights and weekends, as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Comcast may consider applicants with some combination of coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience in place of the stated degree.
- 2–5 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with infrastructure and application management, monitoring, operations, distributed systems, troubleshooting, automation, and reliability practices.
- Ability to work with limited supervision, exercise independent judgment, and develop approaches for non-routine solutions.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, on-call shifts, and variable schedules as necessary.
