Base Salary

$119k - $181k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot RHEL Linux servers and workstations, including automated operating-system imaging.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot DevOps, software supply chain, and container orchestration platforms.
  • Develop GitLab CI/CD pipelines for DevOps and AI/ML workflows and incorporate DevSecOps cybersecurity best practices.
  • Define system architecture and documentation and support interfaces between accelerator control-system communications networks and NNSS IT and Cyber systems.
  • Coordinate plans for software installation, testing, maintenance, and modification, including time, cost, and schedule estimates.
  • Guide programmers and analysts on systems analysis, development, maintenance, design alternatives, performance analysis, and programming techniques.
  • Support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Tri-Lab Operating System Stack for laboratory high-performance computing environments.
  • Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity teams, engineers, scientists, and other national laboratories.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or equivalent computer-related experience with at least 8 years of relevant, progressively responsible experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of technical principles, standards, practices, and procedures in software development or database administration.
  • Expert experience with a broad range of tools and technologies used by NNSS and the ability to evaluate solutions for stated problems.
  • Experience handling dependencies in secure or air-gapped environments.
  • Familiarity with Python, C/C++, building and compiling code from source, OT systems, EPICS, GitLab, JFrog, Ansible, Satellite, and Podman.
  • Experience building and running AI, ML, and data science workloads with containers and familiarity with GPU clusters.
  • Ability to lead complex projects and accept responsibility in new technical areas.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance; U.S. citizenship and being at least 18 years old are required for clearance eligibility.
  • Must successfully complete required physical, drug-screening, background-investigation, counterintelligence, and security-clearance processes.
