Base Salary
$120k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve real-time sensor-fusion estimators for the navigation stack.
- Implement and tune error-state EKF, UKF, and GSF navigation filters using IMU, GNSS, Doppler radar, and wheel odometry.
- Contribute to GNSS carrier-phase techniques including TDCP, dual-antenna heading, and RTK.
- Implement GNSS integrity, jamming, and spoofing monitoring for degraded or denied GNSS conditions.
- Capture vehicle data, run deterministic replays and regression metrics, inject faults, and report results against pass/fail tolerances.
- Support sensor calibration, field testing, sensor characterization, and diagnosis of navigation issues from vehicle logs.
- Build health-status, warning, and output interfaces used by fault-management and safety functions.
- Collaborate with autonomy, safety, perception, and vehicle-integration engineers and participate in code reviews.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience developing navigation, state-estimation, or sensor-fusion software in industry or graduate research.
- BS or MS in Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
- Strong C++ skills and working knowledge of Kalman filtering, INS, and GNSS.
- Preferred: hands-on field testing with autonomous vehicles, robots, or aircraft.
- Preferred: navigation software shipped on a fielded platform rather than only in simulation.
- Preferred: experience with GNSS-denied navigation or GNSS jamming and spoofing mitigation.
- Preferred: combined industry and research experience in estimation, such as a sensor-fusion thesis followed by product work.
- Preferred: experience with defense or safety-critical programs.
- May require eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
