Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Engineer, administer, and optimize large-scale Google Cloud data platforms supporting petabytes of data and thousands of users.
- Manage the full lifecycle of cloud services, including provisioning, monitoring, scaling, optimization, and decommissioning.
- Implement cloud data security using IAM, VPC Service Controls, dataset-level access controls, column-level security, and data masking.
- Build automation for operational workflows and platform administration using Python and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, resiliency, disaster recovery readiness, performance, cost efficiency, and operational governance.
- Implement and support CI/CD automation and create operational dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Tune SQL queries and performance in large-scale data environments.
- Lead technical initiatives, evaluate emerging cloud technologies, conduct proof-of-concept initiatives, and mentor engineers.
- Collaborate with platform engineering, security, architecture, governance, business, and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience supporting, engineering, or administering enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud services including BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Dataflow.
- Strong knowledge of IAM, VPC Service Controls, BigQuery security best practices, dataset-level access controls, column-level security, and data masking.
- Experience with Terraform or comparable Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions, Liquibase, or similar technologies.
- Advanced Python scripting experience for operational automation and platform administration.
- Strong SQL performance tuning and query optimization skills in large-scale data environments.
- Experience building operational dashboards and reporting solutions with Tableau, Power BI, or comparable tools.
- Experience with incident-management and ticketing platforms such as Jira, Remedy, or equivalent solutions.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Preferred: enterprise data warehouse, platform resiliency, disaster recovery, operational governance, emerging cloud technology, proof-of-concept, mentoring, and regulated-industry experience.
- Strong analytical, strategic problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
