Senior Software Engineer - Fraud Prevention and Client Verification

Base Salary
$112k - $239k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own identity verification, bank-account verification, income verification, and fraud detection systems.
- Model identity matching, manage re-verification flows, process third-party risk and verification signals, and route verified applicants downstream.
- Take initiatives from problem definition through implementation, deployment, measurement, support, and future improvement.
- Build clean, tested, and documented production software across frontend and backend systems.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to make tradeoffs and improve conversion, adoption, reliability, and user outcomes.
- Set engineering standards through hands-on work, contribute to code reviews, mentor engineers, and make architectural decisions.
- Own or contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, production monitoring, observability, and post-production support.
- Handle personal identifiers, bank credentials, addresses, and other sensitive or regulated data securely.
- Participate in an on-call rotation when applicable, including possible nights and weekends.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience building, shipping, and supporting production software with Node.js, React, and TypeScript.
- Experience as a full-stack engineer owning features across frontend and backend.
- Ability to make architectural decisions and practical technical tradeoffs.
- Experience owning CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, production monitoring and observability, and post-production support.
- Experience handling regulated or sensitive data, including PII/PIFI, responsibly.
- Strong product mindset, end-to-end ownership, pragmatic decision-making, bias toward action, and clear communication with technical and business stakeholders.
