Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Use Claude Code, GitLab Duo, and other coding agents for planning, implementation, refactoring, testing, reviews, and documentation while owning production code quality.
  • Build and maintain the agent harness, including AGENTS.md conventions, skills, slash commands, hooks, subagent definitions, and continuous integration checks.
  • Ship agents and multi-step workflows for account research, success planning, scoping, status reporting, and customer onboarding.
  • Build MCP servers and connectors for GitLab, Salesforce, Gainsight, Kantata, Thought Industries, Gong, Snowflake, and other enterprise systems.
  • Add evaluations, tracing, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints to make agents measurable, auditable, and safe with customer data.
  • Evolve the CX Application Platform gateway, AWS infrastructure, Terraform configuration, application scaffold, and deployment path.
  • Develop and operate applications including PS Compass, Congregate, GitLab University, and related integrations.
  • Ship production-quality Python and TypeScript with testing, observability, security review, documentation, and runbooks.
  • Prototype applications with Customer Success, Digital Success, Professional Services, Education Services, and Training, and help stakeholders bring applications to production.
  • Contribute upstream to GitLab, provide product feedback, mentor engineers and non-engineers, and improve code review practices.

Requirements

  • Experience building and operating production software, owning multi-quarter work from ambiguity through production, and designing reusable solutions for handoff.
  • Daily hands-on production use of coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitLab Duo, or similar tools.
  • Experience building with LLMs through tool use, MCP servers, agent loops, context and retrieval design, prompt and workflow design, and evaluations.
  • Strong Python skills with FastAPI or Flask and TypeScript skills with Vue or React, including API design, authentication, authorization, and secure data handling.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS ECS, RDS, Lambda, Terraform, Docker, and applications using SSO such as Okta.
  • Experience integrating enterprise systems through REST and GraphQL APIs and using Git, merge requests, and CI/CD.
  • Ability to translate non-engineering workflows into technical plans and write asynchronous design documents, decision records, and enablement materials.
  • Preferred experience includes agent harness customization, GitLab Development Kit, Duo Agent Platform custom agents and flows, AI Catalog publishing, enterprise agent governance, Salesforce, Gainsight, Kantata, Thought Industries, Snowflake, technical writing, public speaking, or open-source contributions.
