Responsibilities
- Participate in the software design and implementation of a simulated space system.
- Develop prototype software in Python, Java, and C for simulated space and ground elements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, academic partners, and ongoing research or technical programs.
- Apply standard techniques and procedures to complete prescribed scientific and engineering tasks.
Requirements
- Be currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university bachelor's degree program in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.
- Be available to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside the university term and return to a full-time degree program afterward.
- Have experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Have programming experience in Python, C/C++, or Java.
- Be able to work with common cloud computing services such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
- Hold an active Top Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain SCI eligibility; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Provide transcripts.
- Preferred qualifications include a GPA of 3.5 or higher, active TS/SCI clearance, and prior participation in agile software development.
Benefits
- Competitive hourly compensation of $25.00-$30.00.
- Full-time, 100% onsite work in Chantilly, Virginia, for a minimum 10-week internship outside the university term.
- Training and mentorship are provided.
