Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and integration of Android Automotive base software components, including HALs, AOSP, and system services.
- Architect, design, and develop Android-based infotainment applications and frameworks.
- Own the BSP, bootloader, kernel, and device-driver stack for automotive hardware platforms.
- Collaborate with hardware, UX, middleware, application, requirements, and embedded systems teams on platform integration.
- Drive compliance with ISO 26262, ASPICE, and ISO 21434 automotive and cybersecurity standards.
- Optimize infotainment ECU performance, boot time, and resource utilization.
- Manage OTA updates, diagnostics, and system logging.
- Interface with silicon vendors, Tier-1 suppliers, and OEMs to align platform requirements.
- Mentor and guide Android and embedded engineers across multiple vehicle programs.
- Own the AAOS base software roadmap and contribute to platform strategy.
- Implement in-vehicle infotainment features using VHAL functionality and customize the Android framework.
- Test, debug, diagnose, and troubleshoot system functionality and issues.
- Support infotainment capabilities such as audio, video display, in-cabin controls, navigation, playlists, voice, or vehicle data monitoring.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of experience is required; the technical profile specifies 12+ years in the infotainment domain with Android development experience.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electronics, or a related field, with 15 years of full-time education.
- Strong experience with Android Automotive OS, AOSP, embedded Linux, HAL development, kernel customization, and low-level debugging.
- Experience with automotive hardware platforms, ARM or x86 architectures, SoCs, and automotive communication protocols including CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Knowledge of secure boot, SELinux, OTA, system diagnostics, and automotive infotainment systems.
- Proficiency in Java and Kotlin, with familiarity with C++ for native components.
- Experience with custom VHAL integration and enhancements.
- Experience developing Android applications with AI functionalities.
- Experience in at least one infotainment area: audio framework, video display, in-cabin controls, navigation, playlist, voice, or vehicle data monitoring.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, analytical, communication, interpersonal, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms.
