Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain backend services and APIs primarily using Java.
- Develop accessible user-facing features using TypeScript and React.
- Use Python for analytics, internal tooling, and automation.
- Integrate backend services with foundation-model APIs and third-party agentic platforms.
- Maintain reliable, type-safe contracts between backend and frontend components.
- Apply testing, validation, error handling, observability, and fallback behavior.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to shape requirements and deliver production-ready solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies pragmatically and apply them when they provide clear value.
Requirements
- A degree in a relevant STEM discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong programming fundamentals in Java or another statically typed language.
- Experience with JavaScript and modern web-development fundamentals.
- Understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and SQL.
- Experience with Git, Docker, automated testing, and common software-development workflows.
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or comparable tools.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take ownership of defined work, contribute to technical design, and deliver to an agreed standard.
- Desirable experience with Spring Boot, TypeScript, and React.
- Desirable familiarity with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, S3, and RDS, or comparable cloud services.
- Desirable exposure to Snowflake, Redis, or similar technologies.
- Desirable experience with foundation-model APIs, structured outputs, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, or agentic frameworks.
- Understanding of API design, CI/CD, application observability, production support, and the security, privacy, reliability, and cost considerations of AI-enabled applications.
- Experience in a digital, marketing, agency, or other fast-paced delivery environment is desirable.
