Responsibilities
- Lead engineering architecture and design reviews and maintain high standards for software quality.
- Translate mobile UI designs into functional Android solutions in collaboration with the product design team.
- Drive the mobile software lifecycle from prototyping through commercialization, release, and post-launch support.
- Integrate the Android application with cloud services and remote data sources.
- Set technical standards through code and design reviews and mentor engineers.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.
- Improve engineering processes including sprint planning, stand-ups, and long-term planning.
- Build robust, reliable, mission-critical software for robotic command and control.
- Collaborate across groups to align goals and deliver impactful solutions.
Requirements
- 6+ years of industry experience shipping Android applications to the Google Play Store.
- Deep understanding of mobile phones and experience leading mobile design reviews through implementation, release, and post-release monitoring.
- Experience with modern architectures such as MVVM and MVI, including unit testing.
- Experience with Retrofit, Coroutines, OkHttp, Hilt, and Jetpack Compose.
- Experience working with remote data through REST and JSON.
- Understanding of networking protocols including TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, Server-Sent Events, and WebSockets.
- Experience debugging networking issues with Wireshark or Charles is a plus.
