Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements and design and implement embedded firmware solutions.
- Design and develop new product features, including Bluetooth wireless communication functionality.
- Work with existing and new software architectures and collaborate with hardware engineering teams.
- Develop low-level driver interfaces for I2C, SPI, UART, and displays.
- Own the feature development lifecycle from design and implementation through verification and release.
- Use scopes, meters, power sources, and other equipment to troubleshoot technical challenges.
- Identify test cases, perform firmware testing, execute or manage test execution, and log defects.
- Manage code changes with version control tools and participate in code reviews.
- Produce design documentation using UML and follow coding, engineering, and software-quality standards.
- Participate in sprint planning and work in a global engineering environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering or equivalent engineering education with a programming focus.
- 4–6 years of embedded firmware development experience for an embedded product.
- Prior embedded development experience with the ability to understand hardware interfaces and troubleshoot technical challenges with hardware engineering teams.
- Expert programming skills in C.
- Experience with 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers.
- Experience with standalone and RTOS-based firmware development.
- Experience developing low-level driver interfaces for I2C, SPI, UART, and displays.
- Experience with distributed version control tools such as Git or Mercurial.
- Ability to learn and use requirements-management database tools such as Jama.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and methodical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team and global engineering environment with a strong commitment to quality.
