Base Salary
$86k - $138k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites using Cypress with JavaScript and TypeScript for web interfaces, microservices, APIs, and system workflows.
- Execute regression and functional automated tests, track defects in Jira, and support high-quality software releases.
- Prepare, update, and validate test data in Postgres and MySQL for unit and integration testing.
- Perform basic system analysis in Linux by navigating file systems, inspecting logs, and running scripts.
- Participate in requirements reviews, sprint planning, team discussions, and collaboration with developers, system engineers, and testers.
- Assist with integrating automated tests into Jenkins and GitLab CI pipelines and gain exposure to AWS and containerized environments.
- Support formal testing events and prepare test reports for internal and customer stakeholders.
Requirements
- An associate degree plus four or more years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree plus two or more years of experience; four additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
- Approximately two years of hands-on software testing or automation experience and foundational experience creating or maintaining automated tests with Cypress and JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Minimum Secret clearance with the ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and maintain the clearance.
- Basic understanding of REST API testing, Linux environments, and relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
- Exposure to Jenkins, GitLab CI, Git, Jira, and automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, PyTest, or JUnit.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is desired.
- Experience with microservices, containerized applications such as Docker, AWS services such as S3 and Amazon RDS, Python or Bash scripting, and integration, interface, or system-level testing is preferred.
- CompTIA Security+ or another DoD 8570/IAT certification and interest in advanced automation, test leadership, or SAFe/Agile certification are preferred.
