Base Salary

$170k - $240k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate pipelines that transform raw autonomy logs and media into curated datasets with observability and clear ownership.
  • Create self-serve tooling for fast data discovery and slicing, including media search and hard-mining workflows that route data for annotation.
  • Improve dataset quality and repeatability through versioning, provenance, and automated checks.
  • Apply privacy and security requirements, including access controls, retention, redaction, and anonymization.
  • Develop dashboards showing dataset cost, balance, and audit details.
  • Collaborate closely with Deep Learning and Computer Vision teams as an individual contributor reporting to the Director of Autonomy Data Curation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent, with significant ownership of production systems.
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python or C++.
  • Hands-on experience building large-scale data pipelines using streaming or batch processing and orchestration.
  • Experience with data modeling, schema evolution, and dataset or version management.
  • Understanding of reliability engineering, including monitoring, incident response, backfills, and operational rigor.
  • Ability to work across data, tooling, and model-consumer interfaces and drive decisions.
  • Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days is strongly encouraged and required for certain positions.
  • Preferred experience includes autonomy or robotics data, flight logs, self-driving car data, sensor fusion traces, video, geospatial metadata, labeling workflows, annotation tooling, labeling QA, privacy controls, vector or semantic search, and hard-mining evaluation loops for ML models.
