Responsibilities
- Design and develop video processing and ad insertion software integrated with Hotstar media pipelines.
- Architect scalable, robust, and efficient solutions for processing large volumes of video content.
- Prototype and integrate emerging media technologies such as AI-driven quality assessment and dynamic bitrate optimization.
- Design algorithms that improve encoding efficiency using video intelligence capabilities.
- Build automated video quality control systems for source content and encoded Hotstar streams.
- Implement media features in live-streaming workflows with observability and resiliency.
- Support state-of-the-art media features and collaborate with research and product teams on next-generation video technologies.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of experience in multimedia software development, with strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Expert proficiency in C++ or Java and strong object-oriented programming fundamentals.
- Deep understanding of audio and video compression and processing.
- Knowledge of H.264/AVC, HEVC, AV1, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, AAC, HE-AAC, EAC-3, Dolby Atmos (AC-4), 360VR, and 3D video.
- Strong background in image and signal processing, including algorithm design and implementation.
- B-Tech or M-Tech in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from a reputed university.
- Preferred experience includes 9–12 years of progressive software development and a record of delivering complex projects on time.
