Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technical design across API contracts, UI interfaces, data models, distributed system topologies, and cross-cutting concerns.
- Define reference architectures, design patterns, implementation guardrails, RFCs, and architecture decision records.
- Write, test, deploy, and maintain production-grade software while solving complex performance, reliability, and scalability problems.
- Conduct deep-dive code reviews and own the software development lifecycle for assigned initiatives.
- Lead technical investigations and root-cause analysis for P0/P1 platform incidents and define permanent fixes.
- Define non-functional requirements, improve resilience and observability, and create runbooks and operational playbooks.
- Use GitHub Copilot, Wibey, and LLM-based tooling throughout design, development, testing, documentation, and incident analysis.
- Architect AI-native platform capabilities and evaluate AI/ML integrations that create measurable seller value.
- Mentor and enable engineers through technical talks, design reviews, RFCs, pairing, demonstrations, and written guides.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area and 6 years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, 8 years of software engineering or related experience.
- World-class expertise in distributed systems, API design, platform engineering, architecture, and complex technical problem solving.
- Experience designing resilient, observable, scalable services and leading production incident investigations.
- Proficiency with GitHub Copilot, Wibey, and LLM-based development tooling.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant field and 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
- Preferred: knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
