Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and test MCA Platform Software, including board support packages, platform services, and middleware applications.
- Develop, modify, and debug embedded device drivers, bootloaders, board support packages, and core platform software.
- Derive software requirements and interfaces from system requirements and allocate them to platform software components.
- Develop, review, and execute unit, hardware/software integration, software/software integration, and validation test plans.
- Lead and participate in troubleshooting efforts to identify root causes of failures and defects across test environments.
- Provide technical leadership by establishing software quality practices, guiding team processes, and supporting consistent delivery.
- Ensure platform software meets configurability, performance, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.
- Review system-level requirements, prepare technical design decisions and results, and present them to internal and external customers.
- Document technical data, communicate significant issues and risks, and prepare invention disclosures for applicable technology.
- Support validation and verification through execution of validation test cases on various test environments.
- Plan individual work for assigned MCA platform software features as input to project plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or another engineering discipline.
- Strong experience as a software engineer.
- Experience developing, modifying, and debugging device drivers, bootloaders, or board support packages.
- Experience with Linux operating systems on embedded systems and knowledge of Linux kernel internals, including scheduling, memory management, IPC, and file systems.
- Strong experience with hardware/software integration.
- Experience with Docker and programming or scripting languages such as C, C++, Bash, and Python.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required.
