Responsibilities
- Design cloud-based technical architectures that meet client needs and leverage cloud capabilities.
- Develop pragmatic migration paths that keep systems operational during transformation.
- Research current environments and recommend on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid tools and solutions.
- Advise clients on cloud strategy, infrastructure modernization, architecture decisions, and migration execution.
- Lead technical teams addressing complex cloud challenges.
- Build ROI models and make defensible recommendations about cloud implementations.
- Apply knowledge of cloud economics, VPC design, storage tiers, compute options, and security controls.
- Ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process.
Requirements
- Experience building complex enterprise infrastructure using systems engineering principles.
- Experience designing migration paths for operational systems.
- Experience with production AWS or cloud architecture.
- Experience with infrastructure modernization, technical transformations, ROI models, and incremental migration.
- Experience with iterative delivery, rapid prototyping, feedback loops, and incremental wins.
- Knowledge of cloud economics and trade-offs, VPC design, storage tiers, compute options, and security controls.
- Knowledge of agency-specific cloud migration nuances, including ATO and WANDS environments.
- TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
- Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of cloud experience, or 16+ years of cloud experience in lieu of a degree.
- Preferred: experience in CNO spaces or similar high-side environments and CNO development.
- Preferred: experience with cloud cost optimization, right-sizing, FinOps practices, and cloud implementation recommendations.
- Preferred: knowledge of infrastructure priorities and restricted-environment constraints, processes, and security controls.
- Preferred: ability to communicate across cloud consultants, mission developers, security teams, and executives.
- Preferred: excellent technical communication and stakeholder management skills.
