Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and verify real-time embedded flight software for spacecraft buses, orbital maneuvering vehicles, and other space vehicles.
- Lead architecture and design decisions, define software interfaces, and lead design reviews.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers and help establish team best practices.
- Develop and maintain software for VxWorks and Linux targets across toolchains and cross-compilation environments.
- Build and maintain software simulators and automated test frameworks for system integration and regression testing.
- Perform and document unit, integration, and system-level testing and support test automation efforts.
- Troubleshoot and debug software in collaboration with spacecraft hardware and systems engineering teams.
- Review software requirements, specifications, and code, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary subject-matter experts.
- Move between programs as priorities require.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including embedded systems; 8+ years is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Demonstrated experience programming in C/C++ or similar embedded languages and proficiency in Python for tools, test automation, or scripting.
- Experience with VxWorks, Green Hills, or an equivalent real-time operating system, including real-time concepts and deterministic scheduling.
- Experience developing for and debugging on Linux hosts and targets.
- Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating system fundamentals, networking protocols, and inter-process communication.
- Ability to lead technical efforts and mentor teammates, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include avionics or spacecraft flight software architecture and standards experience; cross-compilation toolchains, BSPs, device drivers, and hardware bring-up; automated test frameworks and Git workflows; telemetry, command and control, and spacecraft bus subsystems; and software requirements and system-level trade experience.
