Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems for Databricks workspaces.
  • Build a next-generation platform for serving workspace assets with high QPS, low latency, reliability, and performance.
  • Perform low-level systems debugging, performance measurement, and optimization on large production clusters.
  • Design architectures, influence the product roadmap, and own new projects.
  • Introduce tools that improve service automation and operability.
  • Prevent and investigate production issues.
  • Plan and lead complex technical projects involving multiple teams.
  • Mentor engineers, lead sprint planning, delegate assignments, and contribute to project planning and improved coding and system design practices.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of industry experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world use cases.
  • Experience driving company initiatives toward customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work toward a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related major, or equivalent experience.
  • Motivation to deliver customer value and impact.
