Responsibilities
- Perform manual and automated testing and verification of EPI2ME biopharma and clinical workflows.
- Write and execute software testing plans based on software requirements.
- Document testing, verification, and validation activities for audit readiness and compliance.
- Ensure software-as-a-medical-device products adhere to IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971 requirements.
- Maintain traceability matrices linking software requirements, software units, testing, and software architecture.
- Collaborate with Customer Workflows, Applied Development, and Quality Assurance teams.
- Support verification documentation for Design History Files and cross-functional risk-management activities.
- Generate workflow metrics, including sensitivity and specificity calculations.
- Analyze biological, genomic, and sequencing data and maintain knowledge of long-read data analysis tools.
Requirements
- MSc or equivalent experience in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, a closely related discipline, or a biology-related subject with substantial bioinformatics or data-analysis experience.
- Knowledge of general programming concepts and the ability to understand popular programming languages.
- Practical experience with genomic datasets, sequencing data, bioinformatics tools, alignment, assembly, and FASTQ, BAM, and VCF file formats is desirable.
- Experience with samtools and bcftools and familiarity with long-read sequencing data analysis are desirable.
- Knowledge or experience in biopharma or clinical bioinformatics workflows and clinical diagnostic environments is desirable.
- Practical experience with SaMD products, ISO and IEC compliance, GAMP5, or medical-device software documentation is desirable.
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently in time-critical environments, learn new tools, and manage multiple project facets.
