Responsibilities
- Perform manual and automated testing of EPI2ME bioinformatics workflows for biopharma and clinical applications.
- Write, execute, and maintain software testing and verification plans based on software requirements.
- Document testing and verification activities to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Validate workflows and generate performance metrics, including sensitivity and specificity calculations.
- Maintain traceability matrices linking software requirements, software units, architecture, and testing.
- Support verification documentation for project Design History Files and cross-functional SaMD risk-management activities.
- Collaborate with Customer Workflows, Applied Development, Quality Assurance, and workflow development teams.
- Use regulatory compliance and project-management software including MasterControl, JAMA, Jira, and Monday.com.
- Maintain knowledge of long-read data analysis, bioinformatics tools, and software used in clinical and biopharma workflows.
Requirements
- MSc or equivalent experience in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, a closely related discipline, or a biology-related subject with substantial bioinformatics or data-analysis experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Practical experience with SaMD products, medical-device software regulatory compliance, ISO accreditation, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, or GAMP5 is desirable.
- Experience writing documentation under ISO, IEC, or GAMP5 guidelines is desirable.
- Experience processing and analyzing large genomic datasets and associated metadata is desirable.
- Experience handling sequencing data and exposure to samtools, bcftools, alignment, assembly, FASTQ, BAM, and VCF is desirable.
- Familiarity with long-read sequencing data analysis and biopharma or clinical bioinformatics workflows is desirable.
- Knowledge of general programming concepts and the ability to understand popular programming languages.
- Ability to work independently in time-critical environments, learn new software tools, and manage multiple project facets.
