Responsibilities
- Design and execute enterprise performance-testing strategies, frameworks, tooling, and success criteria for payment-processing services.
- Identify bottlenecks through performance profiling and load testing and drive optimization across legacy and modern service layers.
- Build and maintain Java backend services using PostgreSQL and OpenShift for card-network integration.
- Modernize, migrate, and re-platform services from legacy infrastructure to cloud-native environments.
- Develop PCI data-purging pipelines and event-driven services supporting token removal, event consumption, and data lifecycle requirements.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, technical planning, and communication of performance findings to stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in Java.
- Strong relational database experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL.
- Experience deploying and operating services in OpenShift, Kubernetes, or equivalent containerized environments.
- At least one enterprise-level performance-testing engagement covering strategy, tooling, test execution, and findings presentation.
- Experience with performance profiling, load testing, and bottleneck resolution in high-throughput distributed systems.
- Experience designing logical test frameworks from scratch and working with minimal guidance.
- Digital payments, card processing, or financial-services technology experience is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of PCI compliance, secure data handling, event-driven architecture, and OpenShift-based eventing.
- Bachelor’s degree required, with specified specialized training or progressively responsible technology experience substitution for incomplete college education.
- Preferred qualifications include PGLogical or PostgreSQL logical replication, GitHub Copilot or Claude, bank or card-network integration, and segregated or air-gapped development experience.
