Base Salary
$250k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and improve infrastructure, processes, and standards for DRW’s Kubernetes platform.
- Make key architectural decisions and prioritize and assign technical work for the platform.
- Work with business units to onboard and deploy applications to the Kubernetes platform.
- Monitor costs and optimize compute consumption for trading desks.
- Automate repetitive manual tasks and develop new platform components.
- Promote the platform through demos, lightning talks, and presentations.
- Provide customer service to platform users and coach engineers on technical and operational best practices.
- Identify and eliminate risks and technical debt while maintaining platform performance and reliability.
Requirements
- Multiple years of Kubernetes administration experience.
- Deep knowledge of networking, storage, and containerization fundamentals.
- Familiarity with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Service-focused approach with the ability to identify appropriate resources and solutions for internal users.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams using evidence-based technical and operational discussions.
- Ability to lead by example and cultivate technical excellence and soft skills in team members.
- Preferred: experience with Kubernetes operators such as Flux, Fluentbit, Fluentd, and Prometheus.
- Preferred: experience administering on-premises infrastructure.
- Preferred: experience developing, deploying, and supporting full-stack web applications.
- Preferred: experience with multiple programming languages across greenfield development and legacy maintenance.
