$105k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software for Wi-Fi 6 access points, including OFDMA, MU-MIMO, and Beamforming features.
- Optimize wireless throughput, latency, and airtime utilization for enterprise networks.
- Develop and maintain IEEE 802.11s mesh networking solutions, including Mesh Peering Management and HWMP.
- Design Host MAC software components for association, authentication, and power-save operations.
- Integrate and optimize software for NXP-based wireless access point platforms using NXP SDKs and reference designs.
- Develop and maintain embedded Linux networking software, including hostapd, wpa_supplicant, and other Linux networking components.
- Analyze and improve wireless performance using packet captures and tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Collaborate with RF, hardware, firmware, and QA teams on integration and product releases.
- Contribute to access point software architecture involving Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in wireless networking software development, focused on enterprise or carrier-grade products.
- Proficiency in C and C++, with experience in Python and Shell scripting.
- In-depth knowledge of IEEE 802.11 protocols, Wi-Fi 6, 802.11s mesh networking, and WPA2/WPA3 security frameworks.
- Experience with Host MAC architecture, MAC state machines, and association workflows.
- Familiarity with the Linux networking stack, TCP/IP protocols, and netlink interfaces.
- Experience with hostapd, wpa_supplicant, mac80211, Wireshark, tcpdump, and GDB.
- Knowledge of NXP wireless chipsets and access point solutions is preferred.
- Experience with OpenWrt, Yocto, Buildroot, or Linux kernel development is an asset.
