Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded C software for motor control systems using bare-metal development practices.
- Derive and document software requirements and test specifications from system-level requirements with traceability through the V-Model process.
- Design software architectures and document component interfaces, state machines, and sequence diagrams using UML and PlantUML.
- Set up and maintain IDEs, build systems, automated test setups, and unit-testing frameworks.
- Conduct software integration testing and debugging on hardware-in-the-loop systems and motor test benches.
- Collaborate with hardware, system engineering, and validation teams to troubleshoot interdisciplinary issues and optimize system performance.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
- At least 6 years of hands-on embedded software design and development experience, including 2–3 years in automotive or safety-critical domains.
- Expert-level C programming experience for bare-metal development; Python for test automation is highly preferred.
- Experience working with microcontrollers, sensors, lab equipment, and debugging or tracing tools such as Lauterbach TRACE32, Vector CANoe, or JTAG/SWD.
- Hands-on experience with at least two embedded communication protocols among CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, and UART.
- Experience with ISO 26262, ASIL B, and Automotive SPICE.
- Understanding of servo motor control concepts is a plus.
- Experience with Infineon AURIX, PSOC, or TLE MOTIX microcontroller families is a plus.
- Fluent written and spoken German and English at B2/C1 level.
