Base Salary
$200k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead AI/ML projects from ideation and requirements gathering through architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
- Design, build, and deploy LLM-driven features for medical document extraction and human-in-the-loop claims summarization.
- Develop hybrid solutions combining statistical machine learning, LLMs, RAG, embeddings-based retrieval, vector search, and similarity measures.
- Make architectural and technical decisions balancing scalability, performance, reliability, maintainability, and business impact.
- Write clean, scalable, performant Python code and optimize AI/ML systems operating in production.
- Evaluate AI system outputs and model predictions with data labelers and subject matter experts to improve performance and business outcomes.
- Build and integrate API services within service-oriented or microservice architectures.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, SMEs, and other stakeholders to define technical approaches and prioritize work.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and translate AI/ML research into reliable production solutions.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years of experience writing performant Python code using modern best practices.
- At least 1 year of experience building and deploying products powered by large language models in professional environments.
- Proven experience leading technical projects from concept through production deployment and making architectural decisions for AI/ML systems.
- Hands-on experience with statistical machine learning, LLMs, RAG, embeddings-based models, vector search, and similarity measures.
- Experience building and integrating API services within service-oriented or microservice architectures.
- Expertise in evaluating LLM outputs and AI model predictions, prompt engineering, and fine-tuning LLMs for domain-specific applications.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience translating state-of-the-art AI/ML research into production code is preferred.
- Experience with data labeling, AI evaluation processes, agentic or autonomous AI systems, multimodal data, mentoring, or technical leadership is preferred.
