Responsibilities
- Develop control strategies and embedded algorithms for lateral and longitudinal vehicle motion functions.
- Integrate vehicle dynamic functions into a centralized vehicle motion control architecture and define system interfaces and requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, software integration groups, suppliers, and sourcing teams on component requirements and technical reviews.
- Participate in functional safety analyses and apply safety-critical development principles.
- Develop test strategies and validate firmware for robustness, stability, performance, and functionality across operating conditions.
- Support hardware validation, prototype bring-up, labcar testing, unit/SIL/HIL testing, and automation framework development.
- Create subsystem block diagrams, lead design reviews, and debug issues across software, hardware, networks, and vehicle integration environments.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional technical ability.
- At least 5 years of experience developing embedded control systems for chassis systems, vehicle control modules, vehicle motion control, or similar dynamic control functions.
- At least 5 years of experience with electrical hardware applications, prototype bring-up, systems development, vehicle network protocols, and embedded networking interface tools.
- At least 5 years of experience with C, Python, Git, Bazel, CANape, and RTOS.
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, and power supplies.
- Working knowledge of vehicle architecture, diagnostics, network communication, functional safety, and hardware/software integration processes.
- Experience creating and executing component-level test procedures and owning results through resolution and release.
- Preferred experience includes vehicle dynamic features, control theory, physics-based algorithms, SCons, CMake, PCB-level hardware, test automation, SIL/HIL, labcar, vehicle validation, and embedded system debugging.
