Base Salary
$122k - $181k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop debugging, profiling, performance analysis, memory analysis, and monitoring tools for the MTIA tooling ecosystem.
- Own features and components from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Build tooling infrastructure that helps engineers develop, test, and optimize AI workloads on MTIA hardware.
- Collaborate with compiler, runtime, kernel, and hardware teams to integrate tooling hooks and support new platform capabilities.
- Identify gaps in the tooling ecosystem and propose improvements to developer productivity and tool usability.
- Write design documents for medium-scope projects, participate in technical design discussions, and conduct code reviews.
- Partner with advertising, recommendations, and generative AI product teams to understand developer pain points.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience; the degree must be completed before joining Meta.
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience with exposure to systems software, developer tooling, or infrastructure.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python, including systems-level programming concepts.
- Experience working across application, runtime, operating system or driver, and hardware-interface layers.
- Demonstrated ability to independently deliver software projects from design through production deployment.
- Experience debugging and resolving issues in complex software systems using methods such as log analysis, stack traces, or system-level diagnostic tools.
- Preferred experience includes GPU/CUDA, TPU, custom ASICs, or heterogeneous computing environments.
- Preferred experience includes developer tools, open-source tooling or systems software contributions, Linux debugging and profiling, ML frameworks, compiler infrastructure, or distributed-systems debugging and monitoring.
- Preferred qualifications include ongoing AI skill development, responsible AI practices, data-driven tooling evaluation, and using AI tools to improve workflows.
Benefits
- The compensation is $121,992/year to $181,000/year plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
