Responsibilities
- Design, build, ship, and maintain edge caching services serving approximately 35% of Slack API traffic.
- Collaborate with engineers to triage bugs and resolve sophisticated production issues across the services stack.
- Write automation to maintain services and reduce manual intervention.
- Design and implement improvements to service reliability and resilience.
- Write, review, and provide feedback on technical design proposals and code.
- Mentor and learn from other engineers.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, triage production issues, and respond to incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
- 6+ years of professional experience building large-scale systems.
- Experience managing critical production infrastructure, reliability, uptime, and operational safety.
- Experience with reliable, safe distributed systems and engineering and product trade-offs.
- Experience analyzing complex issues requiring in-depth knowledge of company architecture.
- Experience with unit testing, code review, design documentation, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Professional experience developing and operating web applications.
- US citizenship or Green Card holder status.
