Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale low-latency, high-throughput backend systems for real-time decisioning and APIs.
- Own projects end to end from design and implementation through production rollout and monitoring.
- Build fault-tolerant distributed systems and improve observability, reliability, and developer experience.
- Collaborate with Product, analysts, data scientists, and infrastructure teams on Forter’s decision ecosystem.
- Participate in technical discussions and support enterprise integrations through direct customer interaction.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building backend systems in large-scale production environments.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Staff Engineer or equivalent level.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Kotlin, or Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Proven ability to design and maintain high-scale distributed systems.
- Strong ownership, autonomy, accountability, and communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex systems clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate with customers worldwide.
- Experience with API Gateway architectures, schema/versioning strategies, platformization, Flink, Storm, resilience patterns, data science or machine learning teams, developer platforms, infrastructure services, or internal engineering tools is preferred.
