Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the AI/ML strategy, roadmap, and execution vision for a small technical team.
- Lead the full AI/ML lifecycle from problem definition and data collection through model development, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and curate training and evaluation datasets and define data management, labeling, training, testing, and validation infrastructure.
- Drive AI/ML solution maturity and integration into software systems, including deployment to edge platforms within program and security constraints.
- Oversee AI/ML model and algorithm design, evaluate new techniques and tools, and monitor production performance.
- Collaborate with program management, architects, systems engineers, domain experts, and technical leads to align AI/ML work with contract objectives.
- Present AI/ML roadmaps, findings, recommendations, analyses, and demonstrations to customers, senior management, and stakeholders.
- Lead and organize tasking for a team of fewer than five individuals and build relationships with internal and external partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 12 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in STEM and 10 years of related experience, or a STEM PhD and 8 years of related experience.
- Active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
- Recent C++ experience is required.
- Preferred qualifications include technical team leadership, Python, DevSecOps environments, Agile tools including JIRA and Confluence, Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, and distributed systems experience.
- Preferred experience includes deploying machine-learning models to edge platforms with LiteRT/TensorFlow Lite and applying ML algorithms to tracking applications.
- Preferred expertise includes data management, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, reinforcement learning, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Keras, LLMs, generative AI, prompt engineering, data mining, data analysis, data visualization, cloud platforms, and big-data technologies.
- Preferred cloud experience includes AWS, Azure, or GCP; preferred big-data experience includes Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.
- Excellent leadership, management, communication, organizational, and stakeholder relationship skills are preferred.
