Responsibilities
- Collaborate with finance, operations, product, and other internal stakeholders to deliver high-impact features and projects.
- Build maintainable, scalable, stable, and high-integrity backend systems and components.
- Own high-visibility features and projects from design through deployment.
- Design and implement ledger services that provide a complete and correct source of truth for account activity.
- Debug issues, anticipate potential problems, and improve the health of Alpaca’s systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working on systems at scale.
- Strong coding skills, preferably in Go.
- Experience with IDLs such as protobuf, RPC frameworks such as gRPC, cloud platforms such as GCP, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Ability to design and architect scalable systems and deliver performant, maintainable, defect-free code.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, collaboration, and stakeholder-alignment skills.
- Preferred: experience in financial services or accounting, distributed systems or databases, event-driven systems and messaging brokers such as Redpanda, remote work, or startups.
