Responsibilities
- Lead BIOS/UEFI firmware development, subsystem enablement, and integration across one or more product platforms.
- Define BIOS feature implementation approaches aligned with platform architecture, system requirements, and release plans.
- Investigate and resolve complex firmware and system issues during bring-up, validation, and customer escalations.
- Lead BIOS validation readiness, tuning, and optimization to improve platform stability, functionality, and performance.
- Collaborate with Electrical, BMC, Systems, Validation, and other engineering teams on cross-domain issues and release decisions.
- Guide issue tracking, regression coverage, code review support, and firmware release practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to reusable code approaches, standard methods, and firmware capability building.
- Communicate technical direction, tradeoffs, milestone health, and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in BIOS, UEFI, embedded firmware, or low-level platform software development.
- Strong expertise in firmware architecture, BIOS bring-up, platform initialization, and issue debugging.
- Experience with server, storage, networking, or x86-based compute platforms is required.
- Ability to lead cross-functional technical issue resolution involving firmware, hardware, and validation teams.
- Strong coding, debugging, and technical communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical execution with limited oversight.
