Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and scale low-latency, highly scalable, event-based systems and integrations for clinical data.
- Develop the public API, health information network integrations, EHR and third-party integrations, and internal platform capabilities.
- Own projects end to end, including design documents, rapid initial releases, production rollouts, and iterative improvements.
- Improve platform observability, reliability, security, scalability, testability, and infrastructure cost efficiency.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, design feedback, and onboarding.
- Improve developer experience, development processes, tooling, testing, and release velocity.
- Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, daily stand-ups, and the on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 6+ years of full-stack engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
- Experience building public APIs, distributed systems, and complex integrations with external systems.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and scaling cloud-based platforms handling many millions or billions of transactions per day.
- Experience optimizing architecture and code for scalability and cost.
- Experience mentoring or guiding engineers through reviews, pairing, design feedback, or onboarding.
- Demonstrated ability to improve developer experience, testability, and release cycles.
- Must be located in San Francisco or the Bay Area, or willing to relocate.
- Preferred experience processing and transforming large amounts of data across services and building queryable data systems.
- Preferred familiarity with healthcare standards and technologies including FHIR, HIE, IHE, EHR/EMR, NPI, TEFCA, ADT, HL7, HEDIS, RAF, SNOMED, LOINC, and ICD-10.
