Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software on ARM 64/32-bit processors and microcontrollers, from bootloaders through C/C++ Linux applications.
- Own hardware platform bring-up, including driver development, peripheral integration, and board-level diagnostics.
- Contribute to software architecture and design reviews and optimize code for performance, memory usage, and power consumption.
- Troubleshoot and debug embedded systems and resolve cross-functional software and hardware issues.
- Write and maintain software architecture, design, and code documentation.
- Conduct unit testing and ensure embedded systems meet functional and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with embedded, QA, Factory Test, Hardware, RF Modem, and Cloud teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional growth of the embedded software team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive software development experience delivering embedded solutions.
- Expertise in C and modern C++ programming for embedded systems.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience with Embedded Linux and microcontrollers, including SoC bootstrapping, device trees, device drivers, and firmware image build systems such as Yocto or Buildroot.
- Experience debugging with logic analyzers and GDB.
- In-depth knowledge of SPI, UART, I2C, and GPIO hardware interfaces.
- Strong understanding of hardware/software interaction and low-level programming.
- Experience developing on a Linux workstation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
