Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements and design hardware/software components for electric-drive propulsion control systems.
- Develop, integrate, and test embedded software and hardware components.
- Select commercial-off-the-shelf and custom components, circuit cards, and processing cards for rapid prototyping.
- Work with serial, high-speed serial, and fiber-optic communication systems.
- Document code, test cases, testing plans, engineering reports, and proposed solutions for peer review.
- Prepare practical demonstrations and present solutions to other team members.
- Support internal research and development and delivery of robust control systems.
- Travel domestically as required by program needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
- Experience with requirements analysis, hardware/software design, software development and testing, and hardware/software integration.
- Embedded software development experience using one or more of C, C++, Assembly, or Python.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance; candidates must be U.S. citizens.
- Preferred experience includes VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog, SystemC, Xilinx, Microsemi, Texas Instruments, Intel product lines, Visual Studio, QT, Jira, Git, bare-metal and multi-process environments, and rapid prototyping with auto-code generation.
- Preferred qualifications include defense-sector or R&D experience, advanced engineering degrees, project lead experience, and an existing DoD Secret or DoD TS clearance.
- Familiarity with Agile development and effective communication, initiative, documentation, testing, and peer-review skills.
