Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for developing, verifying, and implementing software solutions for structural and multidisciplinary engineering analysis.
  • Define and drive the strategic direction of engineering software development, automation, quality improvement, and cross-domain integration.
  • Act as technical authority for software quality, validation, and verification of internally developed and supplier-delivered tools.
  • Lead resolution of complex and ambiguous technical challenges across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Coach and mentor engineers involved in software development activities.
  • Build relationships with internal teams, supply chain partners, and external forums to influence technical direction and incorporate emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status or progress toward Chartered Engineer status.
  • Strong experience developing, verifying, and implementing software tools for engineering analysis, ideally structural or defect tolerance applications.
  • Solid understanding of software development environments including Python and Azure DevOps, with familiarity with Abaqus or Ansys.
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle in a regulated industry, including relevant standards, quality management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership across teams and supply chain partners, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, mentoring, technical strategy, and industry-awareness skills.
