Responsibilities
- Set reliability architecture for production systems, including observability, deployment, incident management, capacity planning, and failure-domain isolation.
- Design and operate metrics, distributed tracing, structured logging, alerting, and dashboarding infrastructure.
- Own progressive rollouts, canary analysis, automated rollback, deployment gates, and other release-safety mechanisms.
- Define SLO frameworks and production-readiness standards adopted across engineering teams.
- Lead complex multi-system incident response and convert post-incident findings into systemic improvements.
- Develop reliability patterns for AI-enabled systems, including model-drift monitoring, evaluation-driven alerts, and graceful degradation.
- Provide technical direction to SRE and infrastructure engineers and influence platform-level architecture and prioritization.
- Drive capacity planning, cost optimization, and performance engineering for critical paths and shared infrastructure.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in site reliability, production engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related discipline, including architecture- or platform-wide scope.
- Experience designing and owning reliability infrastructure used by multiple engineering teams at meaningful scale.
- Deep fluency in distributed systems, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, networking, storage, and related failure modes.
- Proficiency in Go, Python, Rust, or equivalent systems programming languages.
- Experience defining SRE standards, production-readiness frameworks, or operational maturity models and influencing adoption without formal authority.
- Experience leading complex incident response and translating post-incident findings into preventative infrastructure investments.
- Ability to independently define reliability strategy and prioritize investments amid competing demands.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for influencing engineers, leadership, and cross-functional partners.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
- Preferred: experience with Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, progressive delivery, feature flagging, AI/ML-serving reliability, frontier AI tooling, enterprise systems, and hyper-growth environments.
- Preferred: eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
