Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction for complex ML and software projects, balancing trade-offs and guiding team priorities.
- Architect, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable ML and software systems and justify architectural decisions.
- Define project problems, develop roadmaps, and oversee delivery across multiple workstreams.
- Drive development of shared resources and libraries across the organisation.
- Lead hiring processes, make selection decisions, and mentor multiple engineers.
- Recommend and execute adoption of new technologies, tools, and ways of working.
- Act as a technical expert and coach for customers, estimate large workstreams, and explain recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Demonstrated technical expertise and broad software engineering knowledge for solving complex problems.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and at least one compiled or strongly typed language such as Go, Java, Rust, or TypeScript.
- Experience building robust, production-grade systems and leading teams to build full-stack web applications.
- Expertise in at least one major cloud provider, such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Ability to guide and support engineering teams and take ownership of project outcomes.
- Strong communication skills with technical teams, customers, and non-technical stakeholders.
