Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and launch high-quality software systems that solve complex problems.
  • Build backend services, device components, full-stack web applications, distributed systems, and automation workflows using AWS technologies.
  • Develop software for Amazon devices including Kindle, Alexa-enabled devices, Fire TV, and Fire Tablets.
  • Translate business and customer requirements into well-defined software features.
  • Design scalable, robust architectures and maintain highly available, mission-critical device services.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, customers, and business stakeholders.
  • Establish engineering best practices and technical standards and lead initiatives to improve engineering efficiency.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Experience across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers preferred.
