Responsibilities
- Support engineering users and troubleshoot automation systems and applications.
- Investigate, document, prioritize, and follow up on software defects and support requests.
- Resolve assigned bugs and escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Create user guides, work instructions, troubleshooting documentation, and deliver technical training.
- Monitor software adoption and help employees use approved tools consistently.
- Collect user feedback, enhancement requests, and recurring issues, and maintain a structured backlog.
- Test software fixes, new releases, and system changes before deployment.
- Support Inventor assemblies, iLogic rules, add-ins, standalone applications, SQL data, and standard-parts systems.
- Contribute to minor software enhancements and new engineering automation development.
- Communicate system performance, adoption issues, and user needs to the Engineering Systems & Automation manager.
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
- 1–5 years of programming experience.
- 1–3 years of HVAC or refrigeration experience.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, iLogic, or CAD automation.
- Knowledge of VB.NET, C#, or a similar programming language.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Ability to test software changes and document defects clearly.
- Ability to create user guides and deliver technical training.
- Familiarity with version control and issue-tracking systems.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting engineering software.
- Experience with the Inventor API, Vault, AI tools, or standard-parts libraries is an asset.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, BOMs, and configurable products is an asset.
- Analytical problem-solving ability, attention to detail, ownership, accountability, and adaptability.
