Base Salary
$232k - $241k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of platform services that power AI products.
- Own technical decisions including architecture, APIs, data models, performance, and security.
- Build and extend backend systems in TypeScript and Python, and shape frontend experiences in JavaScript.
- Drive the integration of LLM-based and agentic AI capabilities into production systems.
- Define and enforce engineering standards such as code review and testing strategies.
- Embed AI-native tooling into daily workflows and help the team improve.
- Collaborate with product, design, and data teams in a real-time office environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping impactful systems.
- A portfolio of work demonstrating leadership in design decisions and outcomes.
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python, with solid JavaScript skills.
- Strong platform engineering instincts in distributed systems and API design.
- Fluency in AI/ML engineering, with experience building on LLMs.
- Experience designing systems under constraints like latency and reliability.
- BS/BA in Computer Science; a graduate degree is a plus.
- Self-directed and decisive, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Located in San Francisco, committed to a 5-day in-office work week.
