Base Salary

$137k - $196k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain high-throughput services and tools using Rust, C++, and/or Golang.
  • Deliver high-performance and scalable components in partnership with backend and client teams.
  • Design systems for reliability, observability, and scale with clean APIs and modular components.
  • Explore and integrate AI-based development tools into engineering workflows and promote productivity practices.
  • Partner with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams to shape technical vision and roadmap decisions.
  • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers and promote technical rigor and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • At least four years of backend software development experience.
  • Significant production experience with Rust, C++ including C++17 or later, and/or Golang.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, memory management, and performance engineering.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, gRPC, CDNs, S3, and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases including PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and ClickHouse.
  • Proficiency with modern observability stacks and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Working or read-level proficiency in Rust is a major plus, especially familiarity with Tokio or Pingora.
  • Enthusiasm for using and experimenting with AI tools to improve software engineering workflows.
  • Ability to work independently across system boundaries, drive technical strategy, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor engineers.
